Assassin's Creed Shadows: Food Vendor Locations & Interactive Tracking Guide

Food Vendors in Assassin's Creed Shadows are the 16 street stalls scattered across feudal Japan's provinces — each one selling a unique Local Dish that serves as both a quest item for "Feast for Thought" and a permanent upgrade to Naoe and Yasuke's ration capacity.

Feast for Thought: How and When It Unlocks

The "Feast for Thought" quest becomes available after completing "The Performer" — the final mission of The Fox arc in Wakasa.

Once The Fox is defeated, return to Chef Hong at his food stall in Obama, Wakasa to start the quest. He asks for 16 local ingredients from across Japan's provinces. The quest then automatically marks all 16 Food Vendors on the map.

Food Vendors can be visited before "Feast for Thought" is active. Collecting a dish early counts the moment the quest registers it — so sweeping vendors during normal exploration carries forward without any replaying required.

Three Requirements for Suture Self: Vendors Are Only One

The "Suture Self" (Silver) trophy requires fully upgrading rations across both their capacity and healing effect. This needs all three of the following — Food Vendors alone are not enough:

1. All 16 Local Dishes — from the 16 Food Vendors via "Feast for Thought." Each dish incrementally raises the ration cap. The capacity increases at milestones of 1, 3, 6, 9, 12, and 16 dishes, bringing Naoe from 3 rations to 9 and Yasuke from 3 to 11.

2. Build the Zashiki — unlocked through the Iron Hand Guild side quest series from Imai Sokun in Settsu. The Zashiki increases ration healing efficiency by 20%.

3. Build the Tea Room — unlocked through the "Tea Bowls for Rikyu" questline from Sen no Rikyu in Yamashiro. The Tea Room adds another 20% healing efficiency, bringing total ration healing to full upgrade.

When all three conditions are met, "Suture Self" unlocks. The "Collector" (Bronze) trophy also fires simultaneously — collecting all 16 dishes completes a collection category, making this a double-trophy return on one activity.

The Hardest Food Vendor to Find

Tofu (southeastern Yamato) is the most commonly missed vendor. The stall sits on a mountain path in eastern Yoshino — head south from Niukawakami Shrine along the road and the vendor will appear near a path junction.

There are no nearby settlement markers to guide players to it, and it is the only vendor on an isolated mountain route rather than in or near a named village or castle.

Food Vendors vs Other Vendor Types
